Remington R51 9mm

- Or -

I wonder why Remington went bankrupt?

Sometimes a manufacturer is so successful for so long they kinda forget how they got there.

This usually comes along after the company has grown and prospered for so long that they are bought by other companies eager to cash in on their reputation.

Frequently, and as was the case with Remington, this only leads to ruin.

This pistol, the R51 9mm, epitomized everything that could go wrong in the above scenario.

I am lucky, mine operates about 90% of the time. That still sucks for a weapon principally marketed as a concealed carry piece.

Who wants to be able to defend themselves only 90% of the time? That other 10% can be a bitch.

This pistol had a lot going for it, but it fell short.

Then Remington went T.U.

"Fallen. Fallen is Babylon the great."

NEWSFLASH!!!

The R51 can be fixed and serve a useful purpose!

A company called DangerCo LLC intermitently makes some parts for the R51 such as a THREADED BARREL.

I bought one, and not only does the cursed pistol work far, far better (ZERO malfunctions since installation), but it makes the R51 an EXCELLENT suppressor host. While I haven't had any stoppages since installing the barrel, I still don't trust the pistol. But as a range toy with my Gemtech Multimount, it at least makes a good plinker.

Money well spent. Give 'em a call and see if you can get one. I know they are limited production, but you may get lucky.

I did.
