Cimarron "Old Silver" Frontier model .45 Colt by Pietta

I've always had a soft spot for the Single-Action Army "Peacemaker" style guns of the old West.

One day I decided I needed to spice up the examples I have, and get a piece a little more "showy". Cimarron was way ahead of me.

I replaced the checkered wooden grips with some faux stag hombres from N.C. Ordnance Inc. and they fit perfect out of the bag.

I wish they had included a little washer, as the bolt is a few millimeters too long.

Oh well, time to go listen to the hardware store staff tell me "Is it for a GUN? We don't carry parts for GUNS around here" again.

Detail of the fancy-dancy factory engraving.

I have never gone for engraved firearms before, but I wanted this one to approximate the style-ish cap guns I had in the '60's.

I was very fond of my old Mattel Fanner 50.

Now I am very fond of this one.
